Let me share an interesting information about Milk.  All of us daily use Milk and Milk Products like Curds,Ghee and Cheese.  So for we know only about Plain and Boiled Milk.  Today wide range of Milk is available in the market  like

  • Skimmed Milk
  • Flavoured Milk
  • Condensed milk
  • Tetrapack milk

Let us know the benefits offered by these various milks.

1.  Skimmed Milk  [Toned Milk]

  • It is Milk Without Fat.
  • It is made by spinning full cream milk at a high-speed, a process that separates fat from milk.
  • Nutritional Content:  Calcium – 30%,   Protein – 17%,  Carbohydrate – 4%,  Fat – 0.5 % to 2% and Packed with  good amount of Vitamin B12, riboflavin and phosphorus besides other minerals.
  • Good For : Pregnant Women in urban areas, People with High Cholesterol and Obesity.
  •  Famous brands: Mother Dairy’s Toned Milk, Amul Lite Milk and  Nestle Slim Milk.

2. Flavoured Milk

  • It is made of Milk, Sugar, Colourings and Artificial or Natural flavours.
  • It is pasteurized using ultra high temperature treatment, which gives it a longer life than plain milk.
    Nutritional Content: Contains Calcium, Potassium, Phosphorous, Protein, vitamins A, D B12 and Highly rich in Sugar.
  • Note: Contains artificial Sweeteners, Flavours, Preservatives and  High  Fat content [Less healthier than Plain milk]. Regular Intake may lead to Obesity and Dental problem.
    Famous Brands :Nandini, Britannia,  Nestle, Amul and Mother Dairy.
  • Suggestion: Prepare Flavoured milk at Home by Adding Natural Flavours like cocoa, hot chocolate, strawberry crushes to the Regular milk.

3. Tetrapack milk

  • Germ  Free Milk [Free from all types of Microbes]
  • Note: Microbes can enter through air or grow in the milk itself during transportation and storage.
  • Milk is boiled to 103 C for 3 seconds and then packed in air tight container, So that it can be stored for a longer period. [This method is called Ultra heat treatment].
  • Can be used in Metros as an alternative to Regular milk.
  • Famous Brands: Amul Tazza and Nestle

 4. Condensed Milk

  • It is made of Cream Milk thickened with Cream and sugar. 
  • It can be stored in cans for many years without Refrigeration.
  • Nutritional Content: Rich in Fat and Fat soluble vitamins [A, D, E and K]  Sugar [40%]  and Proteins that  helps in body building. Lower in calcium and other minerals than natural milk.
  • It is  used as an ingredient in Sweet Preparation.
  • Famous brands: Amul’s Condensed Milk and Nestle’s Milkmaid.

Work Phobia – Ergophobia


Let me share an interesting information about “Ergophobia” Means Fear of Work.  It is an abnormal and persistent fear of work. People with Ergophobia experiences undue anxiety about the Workplace Environment. It is also called as Work Phobia.

Ergophobia is Derived from Greek  “Ergon” Means (Work)  and Phobos(Fear).

Common Work Phobias [Ergophobia]

  1. Bossophobia – Fear of Superiors / Boss
  2. Decidophobia – Fear of making decisions
